We'd spent years in and around construction and kept seeing the same thing: scaffolding that let the job down. Late starts, calls that went unanswered, access that hadn't really been thought through. HTK is our answer to that: turn up when we say, do the job properly, and stay easy to get hold of. It's why so many contractors and homeowners keep coming back.
HTK was built because we saw a gap in the scaffolding industry.
Too many people were being let down, calls not returned, dates that slipped, scaffolds that weren't right for the job. Most of that comes down to the basics, so we built HTK around getting the basics right.
We'd been around the trade long enough to know that turning up when you say, treating people with respect and doing the job properly already puts you ahead of most. So that's exactly what we do.
Today we work with homeowners, roofers, builders, developers and contractors right across Sussex. The promise is the same for all of them: safe scaffolding, straight answers, and a team that genuinely cares whether the job goes well.
We're not reinventing scaffolding. We just think being reliable, approachable and good to deal with shouldn't be the exception, and we make sure it isn't.
It's why most of our work now comes from repeat customers and word of mouth. When people know they can count on you, they come back.
We work from our yard and operations base in Steyning, West Sussex, covering the whole of Sussex and the wider South East. HTK Scaffolding Ltd is registered at The Offices, 57 Newtown Road, Brighton, BN3 7BA.
Work with usHTK is led by three directors who each bring something different: running the work on site, keeping the day-to-day side of the business in order, and planning where the company goes next.
Harley has been scaffolding for over 10 years and runs everything that happens on site, across every job we take on in Sussex.
He plans the access, leads the crews and checks the work himself, so every scaffold goes up right, gets inspected properly and is left the way he'd want it on his own home. He's on the tools as much as he's on the phone, and that's the standard he holds every job to.
Our operatives are CISRS qualified and work in line with TG20 and SG4 guidance on every site.
Danny Knight is a Director of HTK Scaffolding and is responsible for quotations, client communication, compliance and business development.
He's usually the person you'll speak to when requesting a quote, booking a scaffold or looking for an update on a project. From the first phone call through to completion, Danny helps keep jobs organised and clients informed.
Away from site, he oversees the administrative side of the business, including health and safety documentation, accreditations, marketing and day-to-day operations.
Cyrus keeps an eye on the bigger picture: where HTK is heading and how we get there without dropping the standards we started with.
He comes from a construction background and handles the commercial side, working with Harley and Danny on where to take on more work and how to stay on top of it as we grow.
His job is to keep HTK a solid, dependable business as it gets busier, without losing what made people choose us in the first place.
Every scaffold is built to TG20 and inspected to SG4, with no shortcuts and no exceptions. Your family, trades and neighbours are safe around our work.
