How school scaffolding works
Scaffolding at a school is as much about planning as building. Pupils, staff, parents and deliveries all need to keep moving safely while the work goes on.
We have scaffolded two primary schools for major roof works: a flat roof replacement with a protected walkway kept clear underneath, and a full wrap with access stairs and loading bays next to the playground.

What we provide
We agree the phasing and working hours with the school and contractor, then segregate the site with Heras fencing or hoarding, keep protected walkways open and plan material deliveries and lifts around drop off and break times. Tell us about your safeguarding requirements, such as signing in or escorted access, so we can plan for them.
Safety and compliance
The scaffold must be completely separated from pupils and staff, with ladders removed or locked off out of hours and anti climb measures where the site borders play areas. RAMS and handover certificates are provided for the school and contractor, and the scaffold is inspected throughout.

Yes. Both of our school projects stayed open. The site was fenced off, walkways kept clear and work planned around the school day.
Can you work in the school holidays?
Yes. Erecting and dismantling in holiday periods is common. Talk to us early, as the summer break books up.
